N.B. The John Edwards adultery story circulated prominently for more than one year on the web and in supermarket tabloids.
Though demonstrably true, Edwards personal, extra-curricular sex life was, during this entire period, ajudged to fall outside (i.e. "below") the standards and baliwick of "Journalism".
Conversely, the demure accusation that Governor Sarah Palin's new baby had - by way of a monstrous deceit - been borne by her own daughter went from Left Wing Blog to CNN Prime Time in hours.
Journalist, heal thyself!
